Dublin, Ireland Gourmet Food Parlour Full time


Gourmet Food Parlour is looking for a highly energetic and motivated Food Runner to join our dynamic team in our Santry Restaurant. This is a physically demanding role that requires stamina, speed, and excellent multitasking abilities. As a Food Runner, you will be a key link between the kitchen and the front of the house, ensuring that food is delivered promptly, accurately, and with a high level of customer service.

 

Our restaurant has multiple floors, with stairs connecting the kitchen and service areas, so this role requires the physical ability to navigate stairs frequently throughout shifts.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Deliver food to guests quickly and efficiently, ensuring dishes are presented correctly and with attention to detail.

Navigate between the kitchen and service floor(s), managing multiple trips up and down stairs throughout the shift.

Assist servers with the smooth flow of service by ensuring food reaches tables at the appropriate time.

Communicate effectively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure any special requests or issues are handled efficiently.

Clear and reset tables as needed, assisting with bussing dishes when necessary.

Support the kitchen team by running plates, checking orders for accuracy, and ensuring all dishes are served at the correct temperature.

Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the expo line and runner stations.

Be aware of food allergies, dietary restrictions, and any special instructions for customer orders.

Provide exceptional customer service by answering guest inquiries or relaying requests to servers or management.

 

Qualifications:

 

Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.

Must be physically fit and able to perform tasks that involve standing, walking, and climbing stairs for the duration of shifts.

Ability to carry multiple plates or trays of food safely up and down stairs.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

A positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Previous experience in a food runner, busser, or similar role is a plus, but not required.

Hospitality experience needed.


Physical Requirements:

 

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Frequent climbing of stairs between kitchen and service floor.

Ability to carry heavy trays or multiple plates (up to 20-30 lbs).

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
