Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control. They act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface. They support Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes. They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and adhere to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.

The NPD Metals group collaborates with R&D teams to bring concepts to volume manufacturing, aiming for greater product efficiencies. We seek an individual to streamline documentation systems, part creation, and procedures for accurate data, optimizing planning and financial processes.

Responsibilities:

Manage new designs through product lifecycle, ensuring smooth transition to volume manufacturing. Drive product and process improvements in collaboration with the team. Work closely with Subject Matter Experts to align new products with existing manufacturing capabilities. Become a Subject Matter Expert in specialized processes. Ensure new processes meet world-class manufacturing standards in coordination with TEOA and operations teams. Introduce efficient manufacturing processes for new products, focusing on productivity and quality. Conduct thorough validations before transferring processes to manufacturing. Implement effective technical solutions to address problems. Maintain high compliance standards with Medical Devices manufacturing requirements. Identify and implement Lean principles to enhance yield, throughput, and productivity. Explore new process technologies for potential competitive advantage. Manage relationships with technology providers and suppliers. Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements.

What your background should look like:

Engineering degree or equivalent, with at least 2 years of experience. Strong technical background with new product introduction experience preferred. Motivated self-starter with decision-making ability. Knowledge of ISO and FDA compliance, with emphasis on validation. Proficiency in six sigma and lean manufacturing principles. Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills. Problem-solving abilities with a focus on innovative and cost-effective solutions. Computer literacy, preferably with experience in 3D modeling and Cagila. Proven track record of excellent timekeeping and attendance.
