About the role:

Flogas Ireland has an exciting opportunity for a Financial Accountant, to join on a permanent position within our finance team supporting the LPG business.

This is a critical role within the finance function, ensuring that best practice financial reporting is in place, that company assets are safeguarded and that the company is operating on a tax compliant basis.

This role will initially be based in our head office in Drogheda, Louth, but will be relocating to our brand new offices in Dublin Airport Central in the New Year.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Working Capital Management 

  • Monthly financial reporting for the LPG business
  • Supporting the budgeting & forecasting processes
  • Managing & reporting of key business metrics 
  • Analysis of all overheads 
  • Maintenance and management of fixed asset register and capital approval process
  • Management of business lease register
  • Ensuring the company is tax compliant and all returns are submitted accurately and on time 
  • Support with internal and external audits
  • Ad-hoc project work will be ongoing 

 

Business partnering

  • Working closely with business leaders and other departments on an ongoing basis
  • Attend business reviews, identify budget variances and work with the business to recommend solutions and recovery plans where appropriate.

 

Systems & Controls 

  • Evaluate and implement effective controls to ensure that they are adequate to protect the assets, profitability and cash flow 
  • Support the business teams through implementation, monitoring and ongoing improvement of the Finance system processes to meet business needs in an efficient and effective manner

 

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate is a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with a minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience (PQE). They possess excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. The candidate has strong communication skills and demonstrates the ability to take ownership and responsibility for their role. They exhibit strong attention to detail and possess excellent IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel, with experience in ERP systems. The candidate works well under pressure, is deadline-oriented, and has a flexible working attitude. Experience in the energy sector would be an advantage but is not essential.
