Roles and Responsibilities

SDLC Expertise: A deep understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is essential, with particular emphasis on its integration with automated pipelines, ensuring efficient and reliable software delivery. Continuous Learning: The role requires a commitment to ongoing education and expansion of expertise within the data science vertical, maintaining a position at the vanguard of industry knowledge. Agile Proficiency: Familiarity and comfort with the SCRUM Agile methodology are vital, as it is the foundation of our project management approach. Candidates should be adept at navigating the Agile environment to drive project success. Stakeholder Engagement: The candidate must be proficient in engaging with stakeholders and leadership, effectively communicating progress, and driving innovation within the organization. This includes the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively. Release Management: As a key contributor to our release management processes, the successful applicant will play a central role in the planning, scheduling, and coordination of software releases, ensuring alignment with company objectives. Technology Adaptation: An openness and eagerness to rapidly learn and master new technologies as they emerge are crucial. The ability to integrate new tools and methodologies into one's skill set is paramount for staying competitive in the field.

Required Skillsets

Programming Expertise: Candidates must possess substantial experience in Python and Java, with a proven track record of success in these languages. Evidence of previous projects, such as contributions to Git repositories, will be considered favourably. Release Management Experience: Applicants should have a history of active participation in production releases within an enterprise environment. Experience in managing and deploying software in a professional context is essential. Innovative Problem-Solving: We seek individuals who demonstrate creative thinking and problem-solving abilities. Candidates should be prepared to provide examples of scenarios where they have employed out-of-the-box thinking to overcome challenges. Git and GitHub Enterprise Proficiency: A high degree of proficiency in using Git and GitHub Enterprise is crucial. Applicants should be well-versed in version control practices and collaborative coding workflows. Automation Tools Experience: Experience with automation tools, such as Ansible and Jenkins, is required. Candidates should be familiar with the use of these tools in streamlining development and deployment processes. Cloud-Based SaaS Experience: Previous experience with cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions will be considered an asset. Familiarity with cloud platforms and services is advantageous for this role.

Education and Experience

Educational Background: Candidates must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the theoretical and practical aspects of the role. Professional Experience: Applicants are required to have a minimum of two years of professional experience in a role comparable to that of a Software Engineer. This experience should reflect a proven ability to apply technical knowledge and skills in a practical, work-based setting.
