Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team out of our office in Dublin, Ireland .

In this role, you will work independently on various projects as assigned by a Project Manager or Group Leader. You may also oversee the entire design process or assist as a technical expert on a specialised design and work on several concurrent projects.

Position Responsibilities

Assess the requirements of a project, break a project into tasks, and work with a Project Manager to determine the scope of work, budget, and staffing. Write scope of work for electrical design based on preliminary review and meetings with the client. Prepare engineering studies and schematic designs for new systems and analyse the operation of existing systems. Work with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to building codes is required. Check the progress of work and alert the Project Manager to changes in scope or additional services. Review contractor applications for payments. Coordinate all aspects of project document completion within the company and externally with clients and other design professionals. Prepare or review construction budgets based on experience and scope of the project. Promote the use of and participate in the development of company design and production standards. Assist in the education and development of design staff and act as a resource for design questions. Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents. Create specialized drawings such as electrical riser diagrams. Provide drawings for own designs and produce sketches to incorporate in drawings by drafters. Research design options and document findings for Project Designer/Engineer. Assure that drawings and designs are in accordance with company production and design standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

8+ years of previous design experience. Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university. Expertise in computer operation for engineering design programs and computer-aided drafting (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.). Experience with the design of building electrical systems, such as building service, power distribution, generators, lighting, fire alarm, security, and other low voltage systems. Have a strong understanding of the National Electric Code (NEC), NFPA 70E, NFPA 72, IBC, and other related building codes and standards.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with medium voltage systems, electrical hazardous classified areas, and telecommunications systems. Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Nutraceutical, or Life Science industry experience. Registered Professional Engineer.
