AWN is excited to announce the expansion of our Environmental Team. We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Hydrologist to join our dynamic and diverse team based in Dublin. This is an excellent opportunity to collaborate on challenging and exciting projects within both the private and public sectors.
About Our Team:
Our Dublin-based team is a diverse group of professionals including environmental consultants, geologists, hydrogeologists, chemists, acoustic engineers, and environmental scientists.
Role and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to scope and deliver projects in line with client requirements. The role requires a balance of technical, communication/written, and field skills to contribute flexibly to a variety of different projects.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Technical report writing.
  • Flood modelling and flood risk assessment.
  • Providing leadership by overseeing, guiding, and managing junior team members and sub-consultants to meet project requirements effectively.
  • Communicating with clients, external stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and sub-contractors to ensure compliance with all project requirements.
  • Assisting in project and program management for large and complex projects, including post-planning approval assistance.
  • Preparing and creating proposals to address client needs.

Essential Requirements:
  • MSc in Environmental Science/Engineering, Hydrology, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience working in the environmental sector.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently.
  • High attention to detail, excellent report writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve and assemble various strands of complex data into clear, concise outputs.
  • Capacity to respond to tight timelines, reporting needs, and internal reporting structures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • More than 5 years of experience.
  • Full clean driving license.
  • Membership/Chartership of a recognized Environmental Professional body such as IEMA, IGI, IAH, CIWEM, etc.
  • Experience in preparing EIA (supporting chapters, etc.)
  • Experience in Contaminated Land Site Assessment, Quantitative Risk Assessment, and Remediation of Contaminated Sites.
