What’s the Opportunity
We are seeking to recruit a Software QA Engineer to join one of our Daft.ie engineering teams. The successful candidate should have 3 to 5 years of similar experience, be up-to-date with modern testing technologies and thrive in a fun, fast paced and challenging environment.
You will have the opportunity to work with the latest technologies and help build some of the most well-known and visited websites in the country. This is more than a technical role, you will contribute to the overall product development effort and you will get to use your experience to develop our quality engineering process.
What will I be doing
QA Engineers are an essential part of the Distilled Product Delivery Teams. You’ll be part of one of our cross functional delivery teams and work closely with Product Owners, Software Engineers and like minded QA Engineers.
Here’s just some of the things you’ll work on:
Work closely with other QA Engineers to develop best practices and continuously improve standards, templates and documentation
Work with the product and delivery team in order to understand requirements and flag potential issues as early as possible in the Software Development Lifecycle
Act as a facilitator for the team around quality engineering, using a Shift Left approach
Review development pull requests, unit tests and integration tests and highlight when best practices are not followed
Be an advocate of quality in your team, coaching teammates, always looking for ways to improve tools and processes
Focus on high quality software delivery through the creation of unit, integration, contract, smoke and production tests
What skills do I need
3 to 5 years experience in software development and software quality assurance
Experience with Agile methodologies
Experience with test automation tools and frameworks such as Junit, RestAssured, WebdriverIO, Cypress, Jest, Pact, Mockito and TestContainers
Strong manual testing experience including both exploratory and functional testing
Solid programming experience with Java, JavaScript/Typescript or similar
Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and collaboration skills
A passion for technology and a hunger to adopt new industry trends
Advantage if you have
Experience in lower layer testing such as Unit testing, Contract testing and API testing
Experience with CI/CD processes and tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions
Experience working with Microservices environments
What’s it like to work here
You will have the opportunity to work with one of Ireland's fastest growing Internet companies. You will get the chance to create a significant contribution to our strategic direction. Projects are exciting and employees are given wide scope for creativity and innovation
Benefits - what you can expect
Our goal is to maintain a culture where people look forward to work – whether they're in one of our centrally-located offices in Dublin or working remotely, which is optional for all employees.
We do that by making Distilled a place you'll be listened to and trusted to do your job. Where you can have fun, learn and feel appreciated. And where you get focused career development, growth and progression opportunities.
We understand that the tools you have to do your job can make a difference too. So while MacBooks are our standard, we’re happy to get you the equipment you need to do your job.
We want you to feel confident that this is the right place for you, your career, your wellbeing and your future.
Above all, your health and wellbeing are at the forefront of how we build the business. That means looking after you while you're here and later in life. So you'll receive life insurance, fully-paid healthcare and a 5% contribution towards your pension.
More about Distilled
