Job Description

Job Responsibilities

Coordinate the daily activities of the lab support team. Monitor work performed/activities of the lab support team. Coordinate and perform verification of lab equipment, including balances and pipettes. Coordinate & perform routine maintenance on and cleaning of laboratory equipment. Coordinate and perform solution preparation (e.g. mobile phases) and media preparation (e.g. cell culture media) activities. Point of contact for lab groups Organise vendor or internal equipment calibrations. Accompany vendors onto site, and organise necessary administration, organise shipping of equipment off site as required. Appropriately document equipment management tasks in accordance with site procedures and ensure accurate records management. Coordinate, review and drive equipment management tasks carried out by others along with a review of associated records. Monitor and drive equipment maintenance task completion. Coordinate and assist with the introduction of new equipment to the lab and the retirement of old equipment as required, administration of TAG numbers and SAP updates. Administration of pipettes, i.e. setup on LIMS, verification schedules etc. Coordinating & responding to ad-hoc requests for information and/or assistance relating to equipment management (including cleans, PMs, repairs and calibrations) and lab support tasks. Monitoring of equipment alarms as required and responding appropriately. Assist Team Lead with alarm reports when requested and follow up with maintenance personnel in the event of equipment breakdowns. Writing of SOPs related to area of work. Dealing with client requests and liaising with the Lead Analyst in terms of resources, continuous improvement and ensuring continuity of service to the client. Assisting the Lead Analyst in terms of scheduling, training plans, execution of training and ensuring routine tasks are completed on time, right first time. Assist with Change Controls and document updates related to equipment management & lab support activities as needed. Participating in laboratory investigations as requested. Generation of certain quality and business related metrics. Assisting laboratory analytical personnel as required. Assist with sample management activities if required, e.g. downloading of templates and movement of samples etc.

Qualifications

A third level qualification in a scientific discipline  At least 3 years GMP experience in a laboratory environment is preferred Good team player Sets a good example to others, mentors others to ensure client satisfaction Good communication skills both internally and externally Accuracy, attention to detail Good organisation of work space and time management. Process improvement
