Job Description

As a Building Surveyor with a focus on energy rating, you will play a crucial role in assessing and evaluating the energy performance of buildings. Your responsibilities will involve conducting comprehensive surveys, analysing data, and providing recommendations to improve energy efficiency. This role requires a combination of technical expertise in building construction, knowledge of energy-efficient technologies, and proficiency in relevant regulations and standards.

Responsibilities 

Conducting energy assessments for various types of buildings to determine their energy efficiency levels. Using software tools and methodologies to calculate energy ratings and performance indicators. Gathering and analyse data related to building materials, insulation, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, lighting, and other relevant components. Interpreting and evaluating energy consumption patterns to identify areas for improvement. Ensuring that building designs and renovations comply with energy performance requirements. Communicating with clients to understand their energy efficiency goals and provide recommendations for improvement. Offering guidance on sustainable and energy-efficient design principles. Preparing detailed reports summarizing energy assessments, including findings, recommendations, and potential cost savings. Collaborating with architects, engineers, and construction teams to integrate energy-efficient solutions into building designs and renovations. Staying abreast of advancements in energy-efficient technologies and building materials.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Building Surveying, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field. Professional accreditation or certification in building surveying or energy rating (, Building Energy Rating (BER) Assessor). In-depth knowledge of building construction, energy-efficient technologies, and relevant regulations. Proficiency in using energy rating software and other relevant tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills to convey technical information to a diverse audience. Attention to detail in data collection and analysis. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Time management skills to meet project deadlines.
