The Role: Accounts Assistant

In this key role, you will report directly to the Accounts Supervisor and collaborate with a dedicated Finance Team. You'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and accurate handling of payroll, accounts, and budgeting processes. This is an opportunity to contribute to a company that's at the forefront of respiratory diagnostics while honing your financial expertise.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Payroll Management: Process both monthly and weekly payroll using Sage Micropay Professional, handle staff hour tracking, holiday pay calculations, and manage HR, tax, and employment queries.
  • Currency Transactions: Process euro and foreign currency receipts and payments with precision.
  • VAT Returns: Prepare and submit VAT returns in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Report Reconciliation: Carry out monthly report reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances.
  • Budgeting and Cost Analysis: Assist in budget preparations and perform cost analyses to ensure financial efficiency.
  • Financial Reporting: Generate detailed financial reports for Senior Management as needed.

 

What We're Looking For

  • Education: A certification or degree in Accounting or Business is desirable, with additional qualifications in accountancy or payroll (or part-qualified).
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in accounting, with strong financial management skills.
  • Skills: Detail-oriented, with exceptional numerical accuracy and time management abilities.
  • Independence: Ability to work autonomously, using your own initiative and minimal supervision.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software is essential; experience with Sage Micropay Professional is a strong plus.
