Role

The Positive Behaviour Support Manager will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, leading on Positive Behaviour Supports across Ability West services; ensuring that adults and children who engage in behaviours that challenge are supported to enjoy their best quality of life possible and maintain their place in the community. As PBS Manager, contribute to the leadership and delivery of a range of services to meet individual needs through supervision, support and guidance to staff and management. 


Key Duties
  • The post holder will be a specialist resource for Ability West in relation to Positive Behaviour Support.
  • To lead and manage the process of assessment and implementation of Positive Behaviour Supports for children and adults supported by Ability West. 
  • To deliver a PBS framework based on person-centred values and behaviour analytical underpinning. 
  • To collaborate and liaise appropriately with colleagues in the Multi-Disciplinary Team to devise strategies that will further the needs of people we support. 
  • Responsibility for Positive Behaviour Support that is targeted, evidence based and delivered within the mission, vision and values of Ability West.
  • To ensure Behaviour Support Plans are accessible and understood by staff who implement them. 
  • To collaborate with Human Resources and other relevant teams to identify, plan, implement and evaluate delivery of Continuing Professional Development for Ability West staff relevant to Positive Behaviour Support and Positive Handling techniques. 


Essential Criteria
  • A relevant undergraduate degree and MSc. in Applied Behaviour Analysis (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5 years demonstrable experience of supporting adults and children with intellectual disability, autism and/or complex behaviour.
  • Board certified Behaviour Analyst (or eligibility for same)
  • Full current driving license with access to your own vehicle (mileage will be paid at the appropriate rate)


Desirable
  • BACB approved clinical supervisor
  • Competencies based training in Positive Behaviour Support
  • Previous Management/Leadership experience
