About QuidelOrtho, Pencoed: QuidelOrtho has been manufacturing products in South Wales for over 40 years. Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, based in Pencoed, employs over 600 people who are involved in the manufacture and supply of clinical laboratory and immunohematology products to sites across the globe.


Our Pencoed team manufacture a large menu of immunohematology products used in transfusion medicine; in addition to a large menu of immunoassay products encompassing a range of disease categories.

On site we have a range of functions operating globally & locally. All our employees are working towards one common goal, to help save and improve lives through diagnostics.

Your new role: In your new role as the Global Planner; you will be responsible for the supply planning, the S&OP process, the inventory forecasting and the new product launches and discontinuation of the product families under your portfolio. You will need to strive for the achievement of the different global planning targets (BO, inventory, scrap, etc.). You will also participate to projects and drive and deliver supply chain process improvements.
The Global Planner will work directly with key Business Partners (Global Marketing, Internal Manufacturing, Ex Ops, DRP Planning, Warehouse, Quality, Finance, Customer Service…) to ensure strong working relationships and processes resulting in achievement of stated objectives.

What you'll be doing in your new role:

Responsible for analyzing global demand requirements and scenarios as well as supplier capabilities and developing an optimal short/long term plan to meet targeted service and inventory levels. Inventory entitlement modeling and risk mitigation scenario planning will be key to achieve these goals.

Ensure that the planning parameters and purchase orders are updated to support supply planning activities.

Responsible for determining optimized allocation plan of available product in a constrained situation.Identification of drivers of key performance metrics and action plans to meet/exceed business targets with a focus on global profitability will be essential.

Manage projects related to product launches, discontinuances, S&OP best practices, inventory and other cost savings initiatives, and other supply chain initiatives.

Support the monthly S&OP process, including leading specific product family global demand handovers to the internal manufacturer or Ex OPs. Drive decisions with cross functional business partners.

Responsible for financial inventory forecasting and gap analysis.

The individual:

A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required. A focused degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Operations are preferred.

A minimum of 5+ years of related experience in supply chain or a related field is required. Supply and inventory planning experience is preferred.

Strong analytical skills are required, including the ability to manipulate complex set of data and analyze data proficiently.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint applications are required. 

In depth knowledge of ERP and planning systems (particularly SAP APO, SAP FIT, SAP Crossroads).

A great attention to detail and strong communication skills.

APICS and Process Excellence tools, training, and certification are highly preferred. 

Self-starter with the ability to work independently and communicate clearly and concisely across all levels of the company and global function.
