Job summary:
The IT Business Analyst / Developer will be responsible for identifying and Implementing software requirements by developing and maintaining core business applications and databases.
The successful candidate will:
- Be responsible for the ongoing maintenance and support of the core business applications in Tuath, including our property and financial systems
- Identify software requirements by analysing user business requirements and using knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, programming language and logic
- Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
- Conduct formal cost/benefit analysis of user business requirements
- Be responsible for Developing and maintain software applications and databases by evaluating client needs; analysing requirements; and developing software solutions as per the IT department standards
- Confirm software program operation by conducting tests; modifying program sequence and/or code
- Maintain computer systems and programming guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures
Key requirements:
- Degree or recognised technical diploma in Computer Science or related field.
- At least 2 years' experience in software development/business analysis in commercial environment
- Experience including Software Design, Software Debugging, Software Development Fundamentals, Software Documentation, Software Testing).
- Background in Database design, development, and enhancement within the MS SQL Server DBMS.
- Experience of Microsoft .NET, VBscript and VBA and HTML.
- Prior experience using B.I reporting tools.
- Experience of user acceptance testing of software.
- Experience in Project Management is desirable
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- To participate on forums/working groups/committees as required.
