Role
  • Take ownership of existing and new product developments
  • Research and develop ideas and concepts for new products and processes
  • Plan and develop prototyping, fabrication, tooling, fixtures, compliance, CAD/CAM, etc.
  • Develop manufacturing drawings and confer with production departments and other personnel.
  • Specify designs and components to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
  • Continually strive to update your own technical knowledge, as well as your understanding of the company products, services and customer needs.
  • Constantly promote awareness of best industry practices, providing company training as required.
Requirements:
  • Engineering Degree, preferably Mechanical / Product Design / Industrial Design.
  • Excellent knowledge of industrial materials and processes, manufacturing methods, and engineering principles.
  • Excellent knowledge of the principles of design, sketching, computer-aided design, industrial materials and processes, manufacturing methods and engineering.
  • Creativity and technical knowledge is essential – understand the technical aspects of how products function.
  • Strong sense of the aesthetic – an eye for colour and detail and a sense of balance and proportion.
  • Be imaginative and persistent and must be able to communicate their ideas visually, verbally, and in writing.
  • Proven ability to communicate design and product concepts through 2 and 3 dimensional media, e.g. hand sketching, rendered images, CAD, model making.
  • Proven ability to work with AutoCAD Inventor for part modelling and assembly creation.
  • Strong knowledge of Agriculture/Dairying desirable.
  • Excellent IT skills must be proficient in the use of MS Office.
  • Logically and technically minded, with excellent organizational and personal management skills.

Viewing of a portfolio either online or soft copy is desirable.
