Perfusionist

VACANCY:  Perfusionist (Full-time, Permanent) - Senior and Staff Grades considered

Mater Private Hospital, Cork are currently inviting applications for the position of Perfusionist as part of our ongoing service expansion in line with Hospital strategy. The successful Candidate will be assist in the development, oversight, and coordination of Perfusion Services, including clinical and operational activities. This is a very exciting opportunity for an ambitious Perfusionist to join a nee Cardiothoracic service with Mater Private Cork.

The Perfusionist Grade offers a comprehensive specialist clinical and technical perfusion service during both routine and emergency procedures on a 24/7 basis, as a vital member of the multi-disciplinary team during cardiac surgery. He/she will be expected to act autonomously within the hospital environment (ward or theatres). The Perfusionist Grade will also participate in the development of department protocols and research

Candidate Requirements

Essential

        Be accredited and registered by the College of Clinical Perfusion Scientists of Great Britain and Ireland as a practising Clinical Perfusionist.

        Have the Clinical capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.

        Have at least 2 years' experience as a Clinical Perfusionist.

        Have a strong knowledge of cardiopulmonary bypass techniques, equipment, and procedures.

Desirable:

        Previous experience in a Clinical Perfusionist role.

Salary is based on the existing public scales.

There is an on Call requirement with this role. This is for any emergencies that develop with any patients that require Cardiac Surgery services. The level of On Call service will be determined by the Director of Cardiothoracic Surgery, the frequency of which is deemed appropriate to the Cardiac Surgery service. This may change as the service develops.
