Due to continuing expansion, Summerhill Construction are seeking motivated and experienced Quantity Surveyors to join our team. The successful candidates will work across various projects.

SUMMARY OF ROLE:

 

Reporting to the Commercial Director, the ideal candidate will assist in the commercial delivery of projects, managing project costs and ensuring accurate financial control.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

These include but are not limited to:


  • Procurement, appointment and management subcontractors & suppliers through to final account
  • Produce accurate progress accounts
  • Preparation and assessment of interim and final valuations for progress payments
  • Monitor and report on project costs
  • Collaborate with project teams to identify and mitigate potential risks and cost overruns
  • Assist the pre-construction team in the delivery of tenders
  • Stay updated on industry innovations, regulations etc

 

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

 A successful candidate will demonstrate the following:


  • Level 8 degree in Quantity Surveying
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in a similar role with a main contractor /subcontractor / consultancy essential
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook. Experience in Buildsoft / Cubit / Bluebeam preferred
  • Strong communication skills (both written and oral) with an ability to build productive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent measurement knowledge
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritising and managing multiple tasks simultaneously while working to tight deadlines, managing time effectively
  • Ability to take initiative and work both individually and as a strong team player
