This role is suited to an Electrical, Automation or Computer Engineer who has a strong technical background and strong interpersonal skills and can also demonstrate excellent skills in problem solving and analysis with a keen eye for design.

This position will expose the candidate to many aspects of SCADA and Instrumentation technology and must therefore demonstrate an aptitude and enthusiasm for the design, ongoing development, installation and support of SCADA solutions. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a methodical, logical and consistent approach to design and deployment processes.

Furthermore, the successful candidate should be an innovative thinker, keen to challenge the status quo and current ways of working.

Overview of Role:

The role is predominately office based with some requirement to attend site during deployment and commissioning phases. A major part of this role includes working with Ignition, a web-based HMI, SCADA and MES software package to present a high standard front end SCADA solution to the client. This role involves a great deal of communication with the client during the implementation of SCADA systems and also after with any queries they may have about the system and any problems they may incur with it.

Responsibilities:


* Implementation of all new solutions and installations
* Responding to customer and/or client requests or events as they occur
* Liaising with Senior Engineers on implementation of PLC, HMI and SCADA software for new projects.
* Creating Tags to be used in the SCADA system.
* Create software design specifications and associated documentation for solutions.
* Use of design software such as InTouch, Ignition, Broadwin and 1CC Flexible.
* Training of clients on the use of application once implemented.
* Maintain consistency of the work throughout all projects.
* Ability to work to deadlines.
* General maintaining of all Files and Licensing for projects.
* Dealing with client IT departments in relation to security.
* General all-round Housekeeping of all SCADA projects.
* Logging of all SCADA service calls, assignment to technical staff and ownership to resolution
* Development of standards and specifications in line with customer requirements

Experience

Technical Skills

* Strong Understanding of SCADA system architecture and components.
* Experience with SCADA software platforms, such as Ignition, Siemens WinCC, Wonderware, Ignition or others.
* Understanding of communication protocols commonly used in SCADA systems, such as Modbus, DNP3, OPC, and others.
* Minimum of 2 years' experience in SCADA and PLC solutions
* Demonstrable knowledge and experience of Software Development and Solution implementation with Schneider PLC products or similar
* Experience of using AI technologies
* Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Database Manager.
* Understanding of PC Anywhere, Remote Desktop, TeamViewer.
* Ability to use VB, SQL
* Knowledge of Ethernet, TCP/IP, and other relevant protocols used in industrial environments.
* Skill in designing and managing alarms within the SCADA system.
* Full Driving License
