We would like to invite applications for the role of CMC (Chemistry, manufacturing and control) Digital Specialist at our site in Waterford.

A fantastic opportunity for a data transformation change agent to join the data and digital strategy group. The CMC Digital Specialist will focus on transforming our CMC processes into digital streams that will enable Waterford R&D’s ambition to establish a prototype CMC Digital Fabric for the global R&D digital transformation initiative. 

To begin with there are three areas of focus: Digital Knowledge Management and associated Risk management, Supplier data transformation and R&D manufacturing data digitisation. This is a key position for the business and the individual will be expected to help shape and evolve our 5-10 year strategy on data transformation

A Day in the Life of our CMC Digital Specialist

Map current CMC business processes and identify areas of improvement Identify user requirements, data workflows and quantify benefits of change Together with data team propose Proof of Concept (PoC) solutions and establish PoC implementation framework. Upon successful PoC completion, collaborate with Global IT, Lab Without Borders team and Waterford’s Informatics team to design and implement a fully digital and embedded solution. Take ownership of digital risk management solutions and identify implementation strategies with all relevant stakeholders. Research and perform PoCs on embedding digital risk management into the digital fabric. Drive research on centralising and automating key document writing elements that are structured and repetitive.

Educated to degree level in a science related field Experienced in the CMC field (Desirable) Curious, innovative and want to help bring about change

Do you have…. 

Experience with digital or data transformation Interest in automated workflows and associated tools (Power Querry, DAX, Power BI/Apps) An understanding of R&D formulation/dosage forms, manufacturing or analytical CMC processes Working knowledge of risk management and associated ICH guidelines A strong sense that change if done the right way can benefit others and the organisation. Good team working skills and ability to work effectively in a matrix organisation. Clear and effective communication skills to share ideas and results, written and verbal, to technical and non-technical audiences. Flexibility and the necessary skills to organise, mobilise, communicate and influence. Ability to teach others and ideally experienced in organizing and conducting training courses.
