We are currently recruiting for an Automation technician in an 18 month contract role to support our engineering department in Cork. The main responsibility of this role is the maintenance and trouble-shooting of existing and new automation. In this role, a typical day will include:

Responsible for maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment. Provide first response technical support to automated equipment. Assist Engineering in the installation and implementation of new equipment. Daily reporting into Engineering on all activities and highlighting concerns early. Responsible for investigating and documenting process issues and report to Engineering all findings and solutions. Support safety risk assessments for any new equipment introduced. Ensure continual Quality System compliance by adherence to established and evolving Alcon QS requirements. Assigned work adheres to H&S and environmental requirements.

What you’ll bring to the role:

A minimum Level 7 qualification in an Engineering or Technical discipline Strong technical ability and automation experience would be preferred Ability to trouble-shoot equipment issues. Ability to work on own initiative. Good problem-solving skills Knowledge of ISO, FDA, GMP standards.
