Within this role you will be responsible a wide range of responsibilities, all crucial for maintaining the high standards of quality and compliance that are central to the company's operations. As a Manager within QC Support, a typical day might include, but is not limited to, the following: Managing the sourcing and procurement of quality control materials, ensuring they meet quality standards and are cost-effective Ensuring the availability and quality of critical reagents and reference standards necessary for QC testing Overseeing consultant staff, including the approval of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) quality records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards Providing leadership and direction to supervisors and staff within the QC function, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment Ensuring laboratories are adequately stocked to meet testing schedules while minimizing costs related to expiry and obsolescence Collaborating with partner groups within QC to ensure seamless operations and quality outcomes Overseeing the issuance and approval of Quality Agreements and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with consultant groups within the QC function Identifying and escalating issues to senior QC management in a timely manner Managing the introduction of new QC suppliers, including sourcing, coordination, and project management of GMP activities Traveling as required to support job functions, possibly for supplier audits, meetings, or conferences Performing personnel management functions such as time sheet submissions, scheduling, personnel development, and performance evaluations Ensuring compliance with cGMP regulations and SOPs, supporting regulatory audits Ensuring staff receive proper and prompt training to maintain high-quality standards Maintaining site safety standards to ensure a safe working environment Representing the QC function in meetings, providing expertise and staying informed of manufacturing and clinical development needs This role might be for you if: You are a passionate and innovative problem-solver You are team-oriented with strong communication skills You are adaptable and are a continuous learner You demonstrate an ability to work with and manage a successful team To be considered for this opportunity you should have a BA/BS in chemistry, biology or related field with 7+ years' relevant experience preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry or equivalent combination of education and experience.
