A day in the Life:

  • Deliver & perform specific accounting processes assigned to site including:
  • Partner with teams to deliver ongoing support identifying key risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with site & finance teams for reporting to above site functions
  • Assist in the preparation & presentation of monthly management information to senior leadership team
  • As a commercial finance partner, play a key role in supporting the delivery of the commercial agenda for the site
  • Partner with the capital projects team to ensure strategic projects are deliver in line with business case
  • Leading and coordinating the Annual Standard Costing process ensuring standard costs are accurate and released on time. Working closely with Supply Chain, Procurement and Technical teams to ensure pricing information is accurate & analysed.
  • Responsible for ensuring inventory is valued in line with Corporate Policies. Ensuring adequate physical control of inventory through cycle count policies and procedures. Co-ordination and calculation of the monthly E&O provision.
  • Monthly Material Usage Variance reporting and material true up calculation for pass-through to clients
  • Perform management accounting processes as assigned in line with standard work and agreed ways of working and processes to deliver outputs to Business Partner customers in line with agreed timelines and SLA
  • Support Financial & Sarbanes Oxley audits.
  • To manage own time appropriately to ensure assigned processes are performed and deliver in line with agreed timelines, and according to standard work approach
  • To actively support the culture of continuous improvement, driving for standardisation and improve
  • To operate according to agreed processes and in compliance with Thermo Fisher Scientific policies and procedures.
  • Act as backfill for other site-based Finance roles, when required
  • Ad hoc duties as the need arises

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Accountancy qualification - preferably ACA, ACCA, CIMA
  • An accredited qualification in Finance, business studies, commerce, business information systems, Economics.

Experience

  • Ideally have 2 years + PQE working in manufacturing industry (pharmaceutical industry is a plus)
