Financial Accountant-Hybrid

Zurich Insurance Europe AG (Ireland Branch) is looking for a Financial Accountant to join their Financial Accounting and Reporting (FAR) team. The FAR team is responsible for the preparation, analysis and review of Group and regulatory reporting. 

Your Role

As a Financial Accountant your main responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:
 

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly reports which allow management to evaluate the performance of the business. 
  • Ensure that all reporting is in line with IFRS, HGB (German GAAP) and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure that all reporting is in line with Group Accounting policies.
  • Preparation of quarterly and annual NSTs in line with CBI requirements.
  • Preparation of quarterly and annual QRTs in line with BAFIN requirements.
  • Preparation of quarterly balance sheet packs. 
  • Maintain a strong and robust control environment and execute controls within our ICFR framework.
  • Support/collaborate in various projects such as the implementation of HGB reporting. 
  • Continuous development of systems and automation of processes.
  • Collaborate closely with other Finance teams (PPM and Actuarial Reserving)
  • Review any industry statistics and prepare presentation/reports for management
     
Your Skills & Experience

As a Financial Accountant your skills and qualifications will include:

Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with at least 3+ year’s PQE.
  • Strong academic background with relevant Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience within the Insurance industry is preferred.

 

Technical Competencies:

  • Understanding of Insurance and Financial Services.
  • Understanding of IFRS standards
  • Previous experience with SAP accounting an advantage.
  • Previous experience in working on system implementation projects an advantage.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft excel skills.
  • Strong analytical skills

Additional Information

Primary work location is Blackrock based but occasional travel may be required to other Zurich locations.
