Sanderson are partnering with a large semi state body to recruit for a Head of Finance on a permanent basis, this position is hybrid working in the Dublin office. My client are seeking a Head of Finance to oversee and manage their finance function, ensuring that their financial strategies align with their goal of maintaining a safe, efficient, and high-performing infrastructure network. Role & Purpose: Lead and direct the finance function, including reporting, planning, analysis, innovation, and risk management. Develop and implement financial strategies to support the efficiency and affordability of the infrastructure network. Provide expert financial advice to the Director of Infrastructure Management and the broader management team. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the finance function, ensuring robust financial reporting and compliance. Manage direct reports, including Finance Managers and Governance and Controls Managers. Collaborate with key internal stakeholders and external regulatory bodies to ensure financial and operational effectiveness. Develop and maintain effective financial control systems and asset management practices. Produce timely financial reports and forecasts in alignment with corporate requirements. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, codes of practice, and statutory requirements. Ensure effective financial management and reporting of multi-annual contracts and revenue through track access charges. Deliver forecasts, budgets, and five-year plans while maintaining cost controls and ensuring compliance with all relevant standards. Provide accurate financial reporting and manage stakeholder relationships with government departments and state agencies. Lead the financial aspects of the Enterprise Resource Planning replacement and ensure compliance with all financial regulations and policies. Manage the financial control requirements of the Infrastructure Manager, including budgetary control and financial planning. Support and develop the finance team, ensuring effective performance management, succession planning, and adherence to corporate HR policies. Essential Qualifications and Experience: Professional accounting qualification with a minimum of 10 years post-qualification experience. Proven experience at a Director Level or as a Head of Finance in a large and diverse organisation, preferably with a background in construction. Strong financial and business management skills, including people management, commercial management, and financial control. Expertise in Accounting FRS102, governance, regulatory compliance, and strategic decision-making. Experience with SAP ERP, Financial Controlling, and Plant Maintenance Systems.
