The Vhi Group Risk Office have a full time permanent vacancy for the role of Head of Information Security based in either Dublin or Kilkenny on a hybrid basis.

Role responsibilities will be include but are not limited to :

  • Designing the Information Security Framework taking account of risk appetite, best practice, regulations and customer expectations and agreeing the Framework with the Board.
  • Working with IT & the business to effectively embed policies and procedures integrating with the Risk Management Framework.
  • Driving and implementing best practice information security practice, awareness and culture within Vhi and provide comprehensive training for the business and monitor its effectiveness.
  • Working with IT, GRO and Executive to develop efficient, change enabling and robust security processes.
  • Managing and leading the Information Security team, ensuring team development and achieving agreed SLAs.
  • Drafting and proposing the Risk Appetite Statement and KRIs for Security for Vhi Group and its subsidiaries.
  • Providing timely and relevant security reports to the Board risk committees and Executive.
  • Proactively support the business change programmes by reviewing security requirements of change, 3rd parties and system improvements.
  • Monitoring the security risk exposures of the business and its control effectiveness on an ongoing basis and ensuring we can react to changing threats in the security landscape.
  • Managing the Information Security Forum.
  • Developing the IS Strategy and preparing and tracking annual plans and budgets for the IS function.
  • Advising and supporting the business on all aspects of information security, responding to information requests and interface on security with regulators.
  • Developing & supporting all the security aspects of operational resilience & business continuity and ensuring we have appropriate plans and contingencies to recover from cyber incidents.
  • Supporting the commercial objectives of the business by having security capabilities that meet customer expectations and provide information to key customers.
  • Enabling decision making to be properly informed by security information and ensure the IS team contribute to finding solutions and appropriate risk based controls.

Key Criteria
Education and Knowledge
  • Minimum 10 years relevant experience of applying/managing information security controls in a similar business environment
  • A third level qualification in an area underpinning ICT or equivalent with a security professional qualification e.g. CISSP
  • Strong background in IT and understanding of business processes
  • Proven demonstrated knowledge of information security methodologies
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and developing a high performing team
  • A good understanding of risk management and use of risk in decision making
  • Proven commercial focus with a strong business acumen
  • Good emotional intelligence - ability to adapt style and approach to different types of professionals and individual
  • Proven ability to successfully engage with internal and external stakeholders including regulators
