Our client is a dynamic fintech company with a global client base and international offices. Currently comprising approx 80 talented individuals with plans to grow to 100 this year. They specialize in a range of payment solutions for consumers and businesses. With ambitious growth plans this year (both headcount wise and revenue wise to €30M), they are seeking a seasoned Head of Technology to lead their technological initiatives and drive this growth.

As the Head of Technology you will be responsible for providing strategic direction, leadership, and oversight for all technology-related functions within the organization. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will manage a team of six direct reports and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to streamline technology, introduce automation, and enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness to name a few. It's important you come from a technical infrastructure background, this is a role you will be quite close to the technology.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the technology roadmap aligned with business objectives, ensuring the scalability, security, and reliability of our systems.

Team Management: Lead, mentor, and empower a team of six direct reports consisting of technical leads and managers, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture.

Technology Optimization: Identify opportunities to optimize existing technology infrastructure, processes, and workflows, leveraging automation and emerging technologies to drive operational excellence.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to understand business requirements and translate them into actionable technology solutions.

Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate technology-related risks, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices.

  • Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage third-party vendors, ensuring optimal performance, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with organizational goals.

Budget Oversight: Develop and manage the technology budget, optimizing resource allocation to maximize ROI and drive business growth.

Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement, fostering innovation and efficiency across all technology-related functions.

Communication and Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior leadership on technology initiatives, performance metrics, and key milestones.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in a senior technology leadership role, ideally within the fintech or payments in a fast paced agile business.
  • Strong background in IT infrastructure with hands-on technical expertise; experience with cloud technologies (e.g. AWS) preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading and developing high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business needs into technology solutions.
  • Commercially astute with good experience in making business decisions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance and security standards relevant to the financial services industry.
  • Dublin-based with the flexibility to work in a hybrid environment, combining remote and on-site work as needed.
