PepsiCo is on the lookout for a Senior Project Engineer to join our team in Cork on a permanent basis.
We are the concentrate team in PepsiCo (PGCS) working across the Beverage, Nutrition and Snacks categories to deliver concentrate for many of PepsiCo’s mega brands including Gatorade, 7Up and Pepsi. Role Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, this is a central role based in Ireland. The key focus will be supporting the delivery of global strategic capital projects to support the capacity, BCP (Business Continuity Plan) and infrastructure for the concentrate business across multiple global sites.
This role is focused on delivering excellence and ensuring global best practice in PGCS global projects execution and in accordance with regulatory controls & PepsiCo policies. Key challenges will be balancing the delivery of the projects within budget and schedule, against the resources available and challenging operating priorities, within a complex business global model and variable business dynamics arising from broad and varying demands.

  • Position Purpose and Primary Accountabilities

    • Support of the Ireland engineering leadership team in their development and maintenance of key Strategic and Base Capital Programs required to deliver key business critical initiatives including capacity, infrastructure, and business continuity planning (BCP), by providing program governance and controls protocols
    • Lead the delivery of key projects as required, according to highest standards of EHS, quality, cost and schedule
    • Support the implementation of project management best practice including PM procedures, risk management, change control, communications, tracking & performance metrics required to deliver the strategic and base capital programs for the Ireland sites
    • Responsible for ensuring the delivery of the engineering and procurement standards, including technical and commercial aspects, supplier relationships and performance managements of the key capital programs
    • Lead value management exercises as required across a diverse range of projects and locations
    • Support key decision making and problem solving relating to project schedule and cost issues
    • Support the monitoring of the budget and the schedule of the base capital programs in conjunction with the individual site leads and early identification and mitigation of potential variances.
    • Responsible for the adherence to program governance protocols and the compliance with program controls in accordance with company policies
    • Support the communications planning and flow of information from projects through to the Governance/Steering teams and the wider stakeholder network. Escalation of risks and changes as required.
    • Lead the identification and resolution of project issues
    • Support the development of Business cases and Capex documents for strategic projects
    • Develop and leverage best practices from PepsiCo divisions as well as from other industries to deliver world class performance in program management, project implementation and construction management globally
    • Lead the development of project capital and opex cashflow forecasting and cashflow tracking/reporting

Qualifications

Essential Criteria

  • Min 7 years process industry experience in engineering with additional operations or maintenance exposure and extensive capital project management experience. 
  • Degree qualification in Chemical Process, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. 
  • Extensive experience requiredin the following areas:
    • Process plant technical standards
    • Project concept development
    • Business case and capital approval
    • Design, procurement and installation
    • Construction, commissionoing and validation
    • Envoronemntal, health and safety management
    • Contractor and construction management
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, proven ability to work at all levels in an international organisation. 

Additional Desired Skills/Experiences

  • Strategic leadership mind-set capability a requirement (need to build the business case and present at the highest levels in PepsiCo)
  • Highly developed influencing skills required to manage various stakeholders
  • Proven track record in delivering large capital projects in a global and diverse environment
  • Formal project management qualification (e.g. PMP/PMI etc.)
