Cognizant is looking to hire a Senior Automation Engineer to join the Automation Team supporting our Multinational Biotech Client based in Ireland. This full-time Automation Engineering role offers an attractive salary and benefits.

As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will be involved in the design, configuration, implementation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting and change control for a client. To apply, you must have experience in the Pharmaceutical and/or Biotechnology sectors and must have previous DCS experience.

In your first few weeks in this Senior Automation Engineer role, you can expect to:

  • Provide automation scopes and estimates for planning automation projects.
  • Take a lead role in the delivery of DCS projects, from planning through to design implementation testing and closeout.
  • Lead teams as required to deliver project scopes.
  • Support the Automation Projects Manager in the maintenance and control of project schedules, resourcing and stakeholder communications.
  • Define the testing requirements and supervise the internal testing to the agreed procedures.

To apply for this Senior Automation Engineer role, you will need a degree equivalent in Chemical, Electrical or Bio-Process Engineering, or a related field. You will also require the following:

  • Experience designing, implementing, and supporting automation solutions for clients in the Pharmaceutical and/or Biotechnology industries.
  • Good knowledge of GAMP lifecycle and quality management processes employed in the pharmaceutical sector.
  • Experience with DCS or PLC software design.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
