First Line AML Analyst

Job Summary

The first line AML team is the first line of defence for all new and additional sales applications. They are responsible for assessing the AML risk of the prospective merchants, as well as conducting quality control checks on supporting documentation at the on-boarding stage. We are looking for an AML qualified, hardworking team player who can assist AIBMS in on-boarding good quality merchants.

This role is a 12 month FTC

Key Responsibilities

  • Completing holistic reviews to ensure we identify and verify the merchant and the merchant’s beneficial owner(s)
  • This includes but is not limited to:
    - Reviewing and assessing company reports and organisational structures to identify ultimate beneficial owners. Completing PEP, sanction and adverse media screening on merchants and associated individuals
    - Reviewing KYC documentation
    - Reviewing additional supporting documentation relating to the merchant
  • Completing several quality control checks to ensure we are accurately recording information relating to the merchant
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders, external partners, or merchants to obtain information, documentation or provide clarity on an application
  • Responding to queries from across the business in relation to all aspects of on-boarding and first line AML
  • Reporting on error trends and providing ongoing training/support to internal sellers & external partners, thus overall improving the quality of application submissions
  • Providing statistical reporting to management around the quality of submission by each of their teams respectively
  • Ensuring applications are logged and tracked at every stage of the process in a proficient manner
  • Perform functions effectively within tight timeframes

Knowledge, Skills

  • Recent CAMS, other AML or ACOI qualification
  • 2-3 years experience in an AML role
  • Working knowledge of regulatory requirements and expectations for AML/CFT and Sanctions
  • Clear, concise communication skills and experience at presenting complex subject matter
  • Fastidious attention to detail
