Technical Operations Manager, Facilities / Utilities

Location; Data Centre, Dublin 22

Status: Permanent Staff Position

Working Hours; Standard Working Week Mon - Fri (on site, no hybrid option)

Salary: â¬90,000 - â¬100,000 plus

 

Welcoming applications from Technical Operations Effective leaders in (Facilities Utilities - critical environments), with a proven ability to manage costs, streamline operations, teams and processes.  As the technical operations manager, you will manage the on-site operational team (30 â 40) who will collectively be responsible for all technical operations, (predominantly M&E Facilities / Utilities) maintenance, repairs, break fix, processes, escalations, training, and

compliance across the Data Centre Campus. With the scale of HV & LV distribution on site, this role will require someone who can lead an electrical and mechanical team in switching activities from day one. This position reports to the Account Director.

 

Key Responsibilities

·      Develop and manage all technicians operating across the campus.

·      Define long-term strategy in terms of technical direction and standards

·      Mentor and grow the technical standard and competence of the technicians

·      Oversee the development & implementation of all procedures, critical documentation and  operating policies

·      Take ownership of the full Root Cause Analysis process and deliver final reports

·      Promote and maintain continuous improvement throughout the team, identify and implement design improvements;

Review, provide input and oversee all technical training requirements rolled out by the wider Company

·      Audit the technicianâs teamâs efficiency and performance and develop efficiencies

·      Motivate and develop a successful team by setting achievable targets, promoting accountability, and sharing of

information, provide constructive feedback, encourage new ideas and aligning priorities within the critical domain.

·      Provide a learning environment, and appropriate training and development planning

·      Own and manage the Authorised Certification process ensuring alignment with local legislation.

·      Be the main point of contact during significant events

·      Development and management of all operational procedures

·      Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to

·      Provide Contract reviews, Monthly & Quarterly business reviews and any other reports as required.

·      Assess critical operational performance frequently, highlighting areas of under performance, and recognize and

promote excellent performance across the team.

 

To be successful in this position you will be expected to;

·      Have a strong technical foundation (Building Services, Electrical, Mechanical or similar) in Data Centres or, similar critical facility operations with minimum downtime. 

·      A successful proven track record in management that helped ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of a similar critical environment such as data centre operations.

·      Have played a pivotal role in driving improvements in process performance and technical standards across the

Campus.

·      Demonstrate and Possess Excellent Team Leadership

·      Prior operations management experience including team management, work scheduling and performance reviews.

·      Experience working with cross-functional teams to develop systems, solutions, and products.

·      6+ years of work experience in Critical Operations

·      4+ years management experience at Facility/Technical/Operations Manager or Contract  Manager level within a critical environment.

·      Technical knowledge and/or experience of the electrical and mechanical infrastructure used in a data centre environment.

·      Strong understanding of CMMS Computerised Maintenance Management Systems and tools.

·      Experience of managing escalation and emergency issues.
