Environment, Health & Safety Manager 


Our client is a highly respected and well established importer and supplier of key ingredients to the Irish agri sector. They operate a comprehensive network of trading, purchasing, shipping and storage facilities across the island of Ireland. 


As part of their drive for best practice within their operations, they are now seeking a dynamic individual for their new Environment, Health & Safety Manager position. This is a unique opportunity to become an integral part of their Operations Central Management Team at an exciting time in their development. This position is preferably Dublin based and entails regular visits to their regional sites.


The Opportunity:


This exciting role provides you with the opportunity to operate at both a strategic level, providing leadership to the EHS strategy and driving a culture of safety, combined with a hands-on approach to implementing best practice EHS systems across the business. 


You will be responsible for the planning, execution, observation and continuous improvement of all environmental, health and safety programs for the organization. The main purpose is to assess the safety and environmental requirements and implement best practice systems and procedures, in order to protect the well-being of employees and third-party visitors on site.


Specifically, you will be responsible for:


Risk Management Strategy, Leadership & Culture.EHS System Management, including operating policies and procedures.Development and delivery of the company wide EHS Training & Awareness Plan.Delivery of the company’s Health Surveillance Programme.H&S Reporting & KPI measurement, including accident investigation and root cause analysis.EHS leadership during Capital Project planning & implementation.Engaging with External Stakeholders to build relationships and align EHS priorities.Collaborating internally and participating in cross functional teams, such as ESG, H&S Site Committees and the Group Operational Risk Team.


The Candidate Profile:


In order to be successful in this role, you will have relevant experience at a mid-senior level, robust knowledge of EHS systems, regulatory legislation (ideally both ROI and NI) and management standards (Ex. ISO) and be capable of demonstrating your understanding of the application of EHS strategies in both an Industrial and Professional Services context.


It is desirable that your experience will be supported with a 3rd level EH&S Qualification or other relevant discipline, and a NEBOSH qualification. Knowledge of ATEX standards and management systems may also be an advantage


You will also be able to demonstrate technical aptitude, strong analytical ability with attention to detail, and excellent report writing skills including risk assessment and business case preparation.


As this role is extremely collaborative, you will have strong influencing and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all parts of the organisation.  


Some other essential requirements are:

MS Office proficiency and familiarity with relevant EHS systems.Full driving license and own transport with willingness to travel frequently to all Operational sites. A flexible approach to your role.
