What is the opportunity?

This is a Group role to lead technical solution delivery for strategic analytics projects, realising the value of our Enterprise Data. You will design, develop and deliver solutions to businesses across the Group, using the latest technologies in data exploration, modelling and visualisation.

This is an exciting opportunity to partner with the business on a wide range of projects, collaborating on appropriate ways of working and proposing new methodologies

In this role, you will:
  • Build high quality data visualisations and predictive models autonomously to provide a look into business process and strategy for Senior Leaders.
  • Use advanced analytics to provide insight into the customer base, developing independent key metrics such as customer activity, product penetration, share of wallet and transactional behaviour preferences.
  • Conducts data science related engineering to build new data marts and productionised data features.
  • Collaborate with colleagues from across the Bank to eliminate silos, to drive the adoption of the Enterprise Data Warehouse & Enterprise Data Lake and to share best practice.
  • Engage Senior Business network across Retail, Corporate & Marketing to generate demand, discover issues and innovate solutions.
What will make you stand out?

Experience in data analytics, including experience with multiple machine learning techniques / models (Supervised Models, Ensembles, Unsupervised learning techniques, Neural network.

You will have proven experience in extracting value from structured and unstructured datasets using data science tools and techniques, and have extensive experience of using common programming languages (Python and SQL preferred).

Experience with any of the following will help you to stand out but is not vital in order to apply for this role;

  • Experience in Financial Services Data Analytics & Senior Partner Management.
  • Previous experience with Teradata Vantage, Tableau and Cloudera platforms
  • Knowledge of developing AI/ML solutions, such as clustering, deep learning, natural language processing and/or stochasticmodels.
  • Data engineering including optimizing big data ETL pipeline, code refactoring and performance monitoring.
Essential Qualifications

Third Level qualification, in mathematics, statistics, finance, IT, or another subject area including a significant numerical element

More about the team

Reporting to the Chief Data & Analytics Officer (CDAO), the Strategic Analytics team is responsible for the development and execution of the Bank's data analytics strategy. The role holder will deliver value-prioritised analytics projects that are closely aligned to the Groups strategic ambition in a scrum team on behalf of internal customers; and contribute to identifying appropriate framework tools and standards to enable the Bank Of Ireland to become a data driven organisation at all levels of the company.
