This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in implementing and maintaining health and safety standards on-site, ensuring a safe and productive work environment.

Responsibilities for Health & Safety Officer:
  • Work alongside the construction management team to maintain a high standard of health and safety.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of the company’s Health & Safety Management System.
  • Identify and address site-specific hazards, ensuring appropriate controls are in place.
  • Maintain clear lines of communication with the Health & Safety Manager.
  • Ensure site documentation and statutory records are up to date and accurate.
  • Enforce strict compliance with site rules and statutory health & safety requirements.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Carry out site audits and inspections, addressing any non-conformances.
  • Assist in accident and incident investigations and contribute to preventative measures.
  • Deliver toolbox talks and health & safety briefings to site teams.
  • Identify training needs for site personnel and contractors.
Requirements for Health & Safety Officer:
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a health & safety role within the construction industry.
  • Qualification in Occupational Health & Safety.
  • IOSH membership (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations and risk management.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a structured safety system.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills with stakeholders and statutory bodies.
  • Experience in chairing and delivering health & safety meetings and presentations.
