About Marlfield House

Marlfield House is a 26 bedroom country house in business for over 40 years with an excellent reputation for its food, service and luxury. Marlfield House is a member of Ireland's Blue Book and the internationally renowned Relais et Chateaux guide. It has 2 restaurants, the fine dining restaurant which caters for up to 90 guests and 40 weddings per year and The Duck Restaurant in the courtyard. It sits on 36 acres of beautiful gardens and grounds and has a wonderful kitchen garden which supplies much of the produce during the summer months. Marlfield is situated just outside Gorey, Co Wexford, just a few miles from the beach and one hour south of Dublin on the N11.

Job Responsibilities

The successful applicant will work with the front office team and be responsible for:

  1. Selling rooms
  2. Taking restaurant reservations
  3. Confirming reservations
  4. Loading reservations on the in-house system (ihotelligence)
  5. Managing hotel website reservations
  6. Processing commission payments
  7. Reconciling cash and lodgements
  8. Checking guests in and out
  9. Welcoming and looking after guests' needs
  10. Loading rates and packages onto online booking systems
  11. Managing online sales
Job Schedule

The job is five days per week, ALL DAY SHIFTS, latest finish 8:30 PM, NO NIGHT SHIFTS, includes weekends.

Minimum Requirements

The successful applicant must have:

  1. An outgoing and friendly personality, willingness to help people, and an easy way of dealing with people
  2. At least two years experience in sales
  3. Proficiency in selling rooms, using a hotel reservation system, reconciling cash and lodgements, and loading rates on booking engines
  4. Computer literacy
  5. Fast typing speeds
  6. Experience with hotel booking systems and online reservations systems
  7. Team player with excellent communication skills
  8. A full driving license to drive the company golf buggy
