Overall scope:

We are seeking a Product Design Manager to join our team.

Reports to:

General Manager

Key internal and external relationships:

Internal relationships – Production, Operations, Quality, Sales and Technical. External interactions across supply partners.

Overall scope

You will lead the design, sourcing, and development of the planted container and plant gift range for Uniplumo. Working twelve months in advance of product launch, you will position product to latest trends, ensure it is ethically sourced, functional, and both market and customer aligned. You will own the annual seasonal and event specific added value gift portfolio and ensure its development is initiated and managed through to customer delivery so that it meets seasonal, and event specific demands as required by annual trading calendar variations.

Key responsibilities

Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design planted containers and plant gifts that are cost-effective and value for money.
  • Build client specific seasonal and event plant gift ranges, evaluate profit, and advise pricing and MOQ and other terms.
  • Coordinate the internal sign-off process and lock in hardware and plant volumes with relevant Internal and external supply partners.
  • Coordinate supply chains, from source to site to ensure on time delivery.
  • Manage stock holding, push through residual and end of line products, manage stock rotation and coordinate and report monthly stocktake to the Financial Controller and the General Manager.
  • Coordinate the planting room in conjunction with Operations, and Quality.
  • Identify and escalate issues as appropriate to the General Manager.
  • Carry out market analysis and identify opportunities and weaknesses in overall market offer.
  • Attend supplier show rooms and relevant annual Trade Shows as required.
Key Experiences and Skills

Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Creative with a passion for plants and planted gifts.
  • Proven ability in staff supervision.
  • Ability to organise work effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced Nursery environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail oriented and strong work ethic and commercial drive
  • Enthusiastic, can-do approach to high quality product finish.
