Job Title: Deputy General Manager

Location: Clifden, Connemara, Ireland

We are seeking a passionate hospitality professional to take on the role of Deputy General Manager at the Clifden Station House Hotel in beautiful Connemara. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional guest experiences, leading a dedicated team, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of our hotel.

About the Role:

  • Reporting directly to the General Manager: You will oversee the hotel's operations, motivate staff, and enhance service standards across all departments.
  • In the GM's absence: You will be the responsible leader onsite, ensuring excellence in every aspect of our guests' stay.

Key Responsibilities:

GUEST EXPERIENCE
  • Prepare for arrivals: Review reservations, note preferences or special requests.
  • Welcome guests warmly: Create a sense of hospitality during check-in and throughout their stay.
  • Act as a visible point of contact: Ensure guests feel valued and address any queries or complaints professionally.
TEAM LEADERSHIP
  • Lead and liaise with department heads: Maintain high standards of service.
  • Motivate and engage staff: Deliver memorable customer experiences.
  • Support the F&B team: Ensure exceptional service during busy periods.
OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT
  • Coordinate training and development programs: Ensure continuous improvement.
  • Enforce grooming and uniform policies: Implement disciplinary procedures when necessary.
  • Promote cross-selling and up-selling opportunities: Across all hotel departments.
PROVING LOCAL ATTRACTIONS
  • Share knowledge of Connemara: Help guests discover hidden gems and local highlights.
ACTIONING GENERAL MANAGER DUTIES
  • Assume responsibility: For all hotel departments during the General Manager's absence.
  • Ensure seamless operations: During this time.
