SiriusXM’s new Dublin facility will comprise a workforce primarily focused on software development, automotive technology and engineering, AdTech, data science, and analytics. Talent based in the new technology hub will be charged with developing and implementing best-in-class standards for high-quality, scalable software deliveries for SiriusXM’s streaming and in-vehicle audio entertainment platforms.

How you’ll make an impact:

This is a Software Engineer II position within our Client Software Engineering organization. This role will work on either Android or Web-based client software for our SiriusXM and Pandora products. As a member of our Client Software Engineering team, you will have the opportunity to improve the Pandora and SiriusXM experiences to the millions of customers we serve. You will get the chance to take on complex and interesting problems as part of a fast-paced, highly collaborative team. We hold ourselves to high standards and take pride in our work. This is a great opportunity for a seasoned Android or Web engineer to deepen their experience and work with a world-class team.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop innovative enhancements and new features for our existing Pandora and SiriusXM applications or websites.
  • Facilitate the troubleshooting of pre- and post-production issues, working closely with the development team.
  • Participate in code-reviews as part of a much larger team.
  • Be familiar with the overall software stack and the software components of the applications and website we build, and always be looking for ways to improve.
  • Participate in your team’s software development coding standards, code review, and all documentation as it applies to software development of the platforms you work on.
  • Participate in the Agile development process for client development.
  • Keep fully aware of the industry evolution, new technologies, and evolution of client application or web frameworks.

What you’ll need:

  • A strong interest in collaborating via code reviews and technical discussions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A growth mindset and an ability to learn quickly.
  • 2+ years of experience developing Client Software for either Android or Web-based platforms.
  • Web:
    • Experience with core technologies such as Node.JS, GitHub Actions, Webpack, Vite, Nomad, Docker, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Jest, Vitest.
    • Experience writing unit, integration, and acceptance tests with Jest, Vitest, or similar.
    • Ability to troubleshoot problems across multiple levels of web application stack.
    • Nice to have experience with cloud technologies like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
    • Nice to have experience with CI/CD environments like Jenkins, Travis CI, or GitHub actions.
    • Nice to have experience with Docker or other containerization technologies.
    • Nice to have experience with Webpack, Vite, or similar, and related JavaScript / TypeScript tooling.
    • Nice to have exposure to architectural design patterns of highly scaled web applications.
    • Nice to have experience building responsive and mobile web experiences.
    • Nice to have familiarity with HTML5/JavaScript environments beyond web browsers.
    • Nice to have solid command of web standards, best practices, accessibility, and browser compatibility issues.
  • Android:
    • Experience implementing native apps for Android using the latest Android features and technologies including Android Studio.
    • Experience with Kotlin, Coroutines, Jetpack Compose, and other Google Android frameworks.
    • Experience with MVVM and other modern design patterns.
    • Nice to have: interest in modern open-source Android projects like Coil and okhttp.
    • Nice to have experience with CI/CD environments like Github Actions and Gradle.
    • Nice to have experience with Hilt and media3.
