Job Description:AWS is one of the world’s largest and most highly-available networks, that continuously grows year over year, increasing in complexity and criticality. Scaling the network to meet user demand is a unique challenge: Network Capacity Services (NCS) builds the infrastructure to manage the demand forecast and the planning of the future state of the network. We own the software system that predicts future needs, elaborates where new network infrastructure has to be deployed, and builds the plan according to physical constraints. The complexity, size, and speed of growth reflect on the software we develop and operate, which must fit the need of a mission-critical function for AWS.
We are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer to build the software that creates the plans to scale one of the world’s largest and most complex networks, and bring them to completion without human intervention. AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. Key job responsibilities- Be part of a high-bar, agile team with global responsibility for the network capacity management software used across all of Amazon;
- Analyze complex and conflicting requirements, elaborating processes and designing the software to back them up;

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Experience leading the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and current systems;
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design;
- Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations;
- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers;
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team;
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent;
- Experience with agile development practices;
