Job Description
A new role has recently come available with a company based in Cork City, who are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant. This role is focused on supporting the day-to-day financial operations and ensuring accurate financial records.
The ideal candidate will work closely with the Company Accountant to manage the company's financial processes and maintain the general ledger, perform account reconciliations, and conduct journal entries.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Process supplier invoices, vendor reconciliations, and ensure timely payments for Accounts Payable.
- Generate customer invoices, monitor receivables, and follow up on overdue accounts for Accounts Receivable.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of cash records.
- Maintain accurate financial records by entering data into accounting software and spreadsheets.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes by providing relevant financial information and analysis.
- Ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements, including VAT, VIES, Intrastat, and PAYE.
- Support annual audits and payroll processes on a monthly basis.
- Perform ad hoc duties as required.
- 3+ years of experience in a similar Assistant Accountant/Senior Accounts Assistant role.
- Part-qualified accountant or qualified Accounts Technician.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
