Purpose of the Role:

To help support Health & Safety team to maintain Governance and to ensure the business is legally complaint with all aspects of Health & Safety legislations

Reporting directly to the Group Head of Health & Safety Manager and working as part of a wider team of Health & Safety related professionals.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining comprehensive Health & Safety Management System for multiple sites.
  • Providing a comprehensive administration support including up to date record keeping to the Snr Health & Safety Officer and Group Head of Health and Safety on a day to day basis.
  • Prepare reports and provide statistical information to Group Head of Health & Safety. Organise information according to procedures by filing, data entry, checking/matching data, etc. to ensure accurate records are maintained.

        Assist with incident investigations to ensure all paperwork secured within H&S the Management System   

        Administer occupational health & safety processes where necessary.

        Administer and support claims management with complete integrity and confidentiality

  • Chair Safety Committee meetings, Weekly H&S meetings, Conference Calls

        Deliver toolbox talks and other H&S communications.

        Support other departments relating to H&S matters and employee specific occupational health queries when needed.

        Monitor and promote H&S systems and processes to underpin H&S strategy across the all businesses.

Other responsibilities

        Promote positive effective communications with stakeholders at all times.

        Help monitor H&S regulatory compliance.

        Raise purchase orders on behalf of the H&S Dept.

        Assist H&S Dept with ad-hoc duties as they arise.

Key Skills & Knowledge

Essential:

  • A strong desire to develop knowledge and expertise within Occupational Health & Safety industry.
  • Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 suite.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent excel reporting skills.
  • Flexible to work outside normal business hours if required.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Good problem solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Must have own vehicle and clean driver's license.

Desirable:

        Background in Health and Safety legislative framework and or related disciplines legal or compliance.

        Considering a career in Health & Safety with desire to work towards formal qualification.

Education & Qualifications:

  • Recognised OHS Degree or Diploma (IOSH diploma or equivalent qualification preferred but not essential.
