We operate in the Brewing, Distilling, Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical, and Biopharma sectors. We have an immediate requirement for Project Engineers with backgrounds in either mechanical or chemical engineering, based out of our Cork Offices. The candidate will support our engineering teams across several areas, including process and utilities engineering, as well as supporting our clients in the area of energy management and sustainability. The position is permanent and full-time.

Our client is a large, multinational premium drinks organisation with brewing and distilling operations in 180 countries globally. Part of their goal is to achieve zero waste in their direct operations and zero waste to landfill throughout their supply chain by 2030. In support of their goals for working towards a low-carbon future, we’re looking to recruit a Production Capacity Modelling Specialist.

The role is positioned in our client’s Global Engineering team which provides Capital Project delivery support to their manufacturing sites including distillation, brewing, spirits and beer packaging, and maturation warehousing. The successful candidate will report to the Client Engineering Capacity Planning Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain advanced Excel models specifically tailored to beverage and alcohol production, incorporating industry-specific variables (e.g., seasonal demand, batch production constraints).
  • Conduct scenario modelling in Excel to evaluate production impacts, considering factors unique to the beverage industry, such as aging time for spirits or batch fermentation for beer.
  • Perform data processing and analysis on raw production data to ensure accurate and meaningful inputs are used in capacity models.
  • Lead sessions to gather input from stakeholders, ensuring that all relevant data and assumptions are accurately incorporated into the model.
  • Design PowerPoint presentations that clearly communicate production capacity insights, focusing on the nuances of beverage and alcohol production cycles.
  • Confidently present findings to cross-functional teams, explaining assumptions and addressing industry-specific questions to align on capacity goals.
  • Document model logic and industry-specific assumptions, ensuring transparency for future reference or audits within the context of beverage and alcohol production.
  • Gather and incorporate feedback from stakeholders to refine model accuracy, applying insights from the beverage and alcohol industry to continually improve models and presentations.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Engineering Graduate (Mechanical, Chemical, or related discipline) or a BSc Degree
  • Highly experienced in building and maintaining advanced Excel models
  • Strong competence in scenario modelling and data analysis
  • Highly experienced in leading stakeholder sessions and gathering input
  • Strong understanding of beverage and alcohol production processes (brewing and distilling experience considered advantageous)
  • Experienced in designing and delivering impactful PowerPoint presentations
  • Highly analytical yet capable of engaging at various levels of the organisation
  • Persuasive, pioneering, ambitious & resilient attitude with the ability to focus on technical detail at a tactical level
  • Demonstrate advanced Business Partnering skills to effectively engage with project delivery teams and transfer knowledge efficiently

This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the sustainability and efficiency goals of a leading global drinks organisation. If you have a passion for data-driven decision-making and a deep understanding of the beverage industry, we encourage you to apply.
