The project:

We are looking for a potential candidate for client engineer to work in a Customer facing role for future offshore wind projects. The ideal candidate will have offshore wind power experience however offshore oil and gas experience may be considered. The potential candidate will be able to utilise engineering support services through EirGrid frameworks however the candidate will have a broad understanding of the below specialisations.

  • You will manage delivery from project inception/brief, through design development and planning, contractor procurement and construction phase in accordance with the overall delivery program and agreed project milestones.
  • You will manage tasks and associated deliverables in support of the Associate Director and other senior leaders, alongside the wider project and client teams, to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of the project.
  • Demonstrating the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative work environment.
  • Demonstrating enthusiasm to drive development and delivery of large infrastructure projects.
  • Identifying and managing stakeholders, and ensuring regular and timely communications at all levels.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with customers and stakeholders.
  • Ensuring that appropriate project controls are in place within the team having regard to budgets, schedule, scope, quality risk and other performance indicators.
  • Preparing and updating formal project progress reports such as monthly reports including financial, budget and project schedule reporting.
  • Ability to analyse issues, exercising judgement to make decisions and escalate as appropriate.
  • Supporting improvement of processes, procedures and systems.
  • Development of governance papers and reports to support the approval process.
  • Managing Risks and Issues and escalate appropriately.

  • You will lead and manage the project team and relevant stakeholders to achieve strategic project key performance indicators (KPIs).

You'll need to have:
  • Substantial experience as a Geotechnical Engineer along with experience with Offshore Substation Platforms - Mechanical, Structural.
  • Digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated teams.
  • A construction or project management background and be hungry to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace has to offer.
You'll also have:
  • Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
  • Property or infrastructure project management expertise.
  • Commercial and financial acumen.
  • Experience of leading parts of projects within large, diverse teams.
  • Experience of developing and forming relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
