Job Description:

Developers all over the world rely on AWS Load Balancing services to ensure their applications and services are highly available. The success of AWS depends on our world-class network and server infrastructure; we’re handling massive scale and rapid integration of emerging technologies. We’re looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join the Migration Analytics team in support of onboarding customers to AWS load balancing.

The AWS Load Balancing team is looking for software engineers to join the Migration Analytics team, which builds services to allow safe migration and onboarding to AWS Load Balancing products. As a Software Engineer, you will play an integral role in building migration tools, services, and health analytics for the AWS load balancing organization.

You’ll have a unique opportunity to build software that accelerates onboarding of customers to AWS services, driving a step-change in Amazon’s ability to simplify our customer’s journey to AWS and build their confidence by creating analytics to expose migration health insights. You’ll work on Amazon’s hardest problems, building high quality, architecturally sound systems that are aligned with our business needs. You’ll strive for simplicity, demonstrate significant creativity and high judgment, and contribute towards intellectual property through patents.

  7. You drive mindful discussions with customers and peers, providing context for current technology choices and guiding future technology choices.
  8. You make appropriate architectural trade-offs and your code submissions are inventive, secure, easily maintainable, appropriately scalable, and extensible.
  9. You write software that is easy for others to contribute to, taking ownership of team architecture and driving engineering best practices.
  10. You work to resolve the root cause of endemic problems and influence software decisions made by other teams.
  11. You contribute to the professional development of colleagues, ensuring your team is stronger because of your presence.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
  • Experience leading the architecture and design of new and current systems.
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
