Job Description

Motorola Solutions is seeking a skilled and motivated Embedded Software Engineer to develop innovative, mission-critical device-based solutions for our Android enabled two-way radios. This role focuses on Embedded Linux development while offering the opportunity to enhance your skills in a technology-driven and collaborative environment. Existing knowledge of the Android platform is a plus.

Essential Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications or Computer Science. Solid understanding of software engineering principles, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. Knowledge of C/C++ programming. Understanding of Linux kernel concepts, including memory management, interrupt and event handling, synchronization mechanisms, subsystem infrastructure, CPU resource management, and file system operations within the Linux kernel environment. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Nice-to-Have Experience

Knowledge of Java. Familiarity with Android development using Java or Kotlin and familiarity with Android SDK, NDK, and Android Studio. Familiarity with Android framework components (e.g., Bluetooth, sensors, widgets, and services). Familiarity with different device driver frameworks for Linux. Ability to read and interpret schematics and hardware design documentation. Familiarity with a variety of test equipment, including hardware debuggers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other diagnostic tools. Familiarity with automated build systems, continuous integration, and deployment frameworks.
