Todays' RCM is inherently complex due to opaque and payer-specific adjudication rules, incurring significant waste and inefficiency. Optum Insight is committed to delivering new technology and processes to improve the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) workflow using advances in Gen AI and other state-of-the-art technology that would ultimately benefit all stakeholders involved in the healthcare ecosystem — payers, providers, and patients.

Director of Technical Product Management plays a vital role in shaping and executing the product strategy within our technology team, as aligned with our primary Business partner roadmaps and our Technology roadmap. This person will oversee and drive the strategic direction, development, and management of technical products (as aligned to our prioritized business product roadmap and our Technology Roadmap) ensuring they align with Strategy, business goals, fulfill market needs and stay ahead in the competitive landscape.

Primary Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Vision: 

  • Work with Leaders to develop and articulate a clear vision for the  Product portfolio, including aligning with the business company's strategic objectives. 
  • Create, implement and manage a long-term product roadmap, including new product development and enhancements to existing products. 

Leadership and Team Management: 

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of technical product owners and lead technical product managers. 
  • Foster a culture of innovation, excellence, and accountability within the team. 
  • Facilitate collaboration and communication across various local and Enterprise Technology and Business areas, such as Engineering, business, customer support, Data Governance etc. 

Product Lifecycle Management: 

  • Oversee the technical product lifecycle from ideation to launch, and further into maturity and potential phase-out. 
  • Working with our Business and Tech partners, prioritize product initiatives based on business impact, customer needs, and market trends. 

Market Analysis and Customer Insight: 

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, technologies, and competitive threats. 
  • Engage with business and stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into product features and improvements. 

Technical Oversight and Innovation: 

  • Work closely with technical leads and engineering teams to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with product vision. 
  • Drive innovation and ensure the products leverage cutting-edge technology effectively. 

Stakeholder Communication and Reporting: 

  • Act as a key point of contact for all product-related communications with internal stakeholders and external partners. 
  • Provide regular updates to executive leadership on product performance, strategic shifts, and market dynamics. 

Technical Product Resource Allocation: 

  • Manage and ensure optimal allocation of technical product resources across the portfolio. 
  • Balance capacity between new product development and enhancement of existing products.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field 
  • Extensive experience in technical product management, including a track record of successful product launches 
  • Solid leadership skills with experience in managing and developing high-performing teams 
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills 
  • Deep understanding of technology, SDLC and the ability to engage with technical teams on complex issues 
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders
