As a Junior Risk Analyst you will be the liaison between the Risk team and Treasury Risk Solutions (TRS), Equities, Treasury, Compliance and Operations teams. The Role requires proactive engagement between the Teams and a collaborative approach to problem identification and resolution.

What will you be doing?

  • Develop a deep understanding of operational risk within Investec Europe Limited (IEL) and an awareness of market, liquidity and credit risk drivers, and the interaction of these risks within IEL.
  • Operational Risk:
    Capturing and reviewing Operational Risk events and losses, including root cause analysis, follow up and resolution.
    1. Documenting actions arising from Operational Risk events and/or Risk & Control Self Assessments with subsequent follow up and monitoring to ensure completion in agreed timelines.
    2. Develop an understanding of IEL's risk register and assist with the facilitation, oversight and challenge of the Risk & Control Self-Assessment process.
    3. Assist with the Identification and quantification of material risks and scenarios for each business unit, in order to determine Operational Risk Pillar II capital requirements as part of the firms ICAAP.
  • Risk management:
    Work closely with other risk management personnel to identify, measure, and manage credit, market and liquidity risks.
    1. Production of daily, and other regular Risk reports for the business, Including analysis and commentary on movements in risk exposure.
    2. Develop an understanding of risk management methodologies and their application to credit risk to assess potential impact of market price movements on credit exposures and assist with development of appropriate risk management risk assessment and reporting techniques.
