Job Title: Catering Assistant

Location: Dublin 24

Salary: €15.90 per hour

We are seeking Catering Assistants to play an essential role in food service operations within healthcare facilities in Dublin 24. You'll help enhance patient care by delivering high-quality food services directly to patients, staff, and visitors. Enjoy competitive pay, including double pay on Sundays and Bank Holidays. We are seeking full-time flexible individuals for this role, as working hours vary based on client needs from Monday to Friday with some weekend availability. Shift patterns are between 7am and 7pm.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the preparation and serving of meals and beverages, ensuring all dietary requirements and restrictions are meticulously met.
  2. Maintain impeccable kitchen hygiene by cleaning equipment, utensils, and work areas in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  3. Adhere strictly to HACCP guidelines and procedures.
  4. Implement correct storage, labelling, and rotation of food to prevent spoilage and maintain quality.
  5. Deliver meals to patients’ bedside and ensure that there is a person to assist the patient if required.
  6. Follow established procedures for waste and recycling management.
  7. Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure efficient food service and timely meal delivery.
  8. Deliver excellent customer service by addressing queries and requests professionally.
  9. Ensure ward pantry is stocked with food for daily service.

Skills and Qualification Requirements:

  1. Previous 6 months to 1 year of experience in a catering or high-volume kitchen environment, preferably in a healthcare environment.
  2. Legal right to work in Ireland and successful completion of Garda Vetting.
  3. Provide references outlining 5 years of working experience.
  4. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  5. High standards of cleanliness and a commitment to maintaining hygiene.
  6. Adherence to Infection Control Policies.
  7. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
