Catering Assistant job in Dublin 7

Location: Dublin 7
Salary: €15.90/hour

Join our team as a Catering Assistant in Dublin 7 and play an essential role in delivering high-quality food services in a fast-paced and busy healthcare environment. Your work will directly enhance patient care and well-being, making a real difference every day.

We are hiring flexible Catering Assistants for full-time roles. Shifts range from 7 AM to 7 PM, Monday to Sunday, with some weekend availability. You'll also enjoy double pay on Sundays and Bank Holidays, making this one of the most rewarding kitchen hygiene roles in Dublin

Key Duties and Responsibilities
As a Catering Assistant, your role will involve:

  • Assisting in the preparation and serving of meals and beverages, ensuring that patients' dietary needs and restrictions are met with care.
  • Maintaining high standards of kitchen hygiene by cleaning equipment, utensils, and work areas in line with health and safety regulations.
  • Following HACCP procedures and infection control policies to ensure a safe and clean environment.
  • Storing, labelling, and rotating food properly to prevent waste and maintain quality standards.
  • Delivering meals to patients at their bedside and offering assistance as required.
  • Managing waste and recycling following established protocols to maintain a tidy workspace.
  • Working closely with kitchen staff to ensure efficient food service and on-time meal delivery.
  • Stocking ward pantries with food supplies for daily services to support smooth operations.

What You Bring to the Team

We are looking for individuals who thrive in fast-paced, team-oriented settings and are passionate about supporting patient well-being in healthcare. Successful candidates will possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • 6 months to 1 year of experience in a catering or busy kitchen environment (experience in healthcare facilities is an advantage).
  • Legal eligibility to work in Ireland, with successful completion of Garda Vetting.
  • References covering a 5-year work history.
  • Strong communication skills and excellent teamwork capabilities.
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of kitchen cleanliness, hygiene, and infection control.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
