The Child and Family Agency was established on 1st January 2014 and is responsible for a range of statutory functions including provision of child protection, alternative care, specified regulatory services, and a range of family support services. The Agency has commenced a major improvement programme with significant focus on Practice, Culture, and Structure.
The Agency currently has responsibility for a budget of circa €1.2 billion and delivers its services through over 5,500 people in 259 locations across the Country.

Purpose of Role:
The Aftercare Manager will lead and be responsible for the management and effective delivery of an Aftercare Service in the assigned area. The Aftercare Manager will provide direct line management, supervision, and leadership for an Aftercare Service in accordance with the service delivery model. The Aftercare Manager will work as part of a multi-agency response, partnering with the parent, family, and other agencies on behalf of the young person/young adult to ensure they receive services proportionate to identified needs and risks. Responsibilities include planning, implementing, and evaluating Aftercare Plans, ensuring written and verbal reporting of individual programmes, and contributing to a welcoming, safe, caring, stable, and supportive environment.
The Aftercare Manager will treat young people/young adults with dignity and respect, promoting a culture of unconditional positive regard at all times. He/she will promote the best interests of young people/young adults and facilitate their participation when planning and reviewing agreed plans regarding Aftercare service support. The Aftercare Manager will liaise with other relevant statutory and voluntary services in carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the role.
Location of Post:
The initial vacancy is in Carlow, Kilkenny, and South Tipperary. Future vacancies may arise across the Tusla Area/Region of Southeast.

Eligibility Criteria Qualifications and / or Experience:
- Be registered in the Social Care Workers Register maintained by the Social Care Workers Registration Board maintained by CORU.
- OR Hold a CORU approved Social Care Worker qualification and have applied for CORU registration (evidence of application will be necessary).
- AND Minimum 5 years’ experience of working with children and young people in crisis as relevant to the role.
- Candidates must have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and management ability for the proper discharge of the duties of the office).
Desirable:
Knowledge of EU Asylum Law and International Protection legislation.
Health:
A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
Character:
Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character.
