Opalus Healthcare is seeking motivated and skilled Surgical SHOs & Registrars to join our team in public and private healthcare facilities across Ireland. These roles offer the flexibility of locum positions, providing opportunities to gain valuable surgical experience in various clinical environments.
Contracts are available for short-term or long-term locum assignments, with both full-time and part-time options, allowing for a dynamic and adaptable career path.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Assist in the preoperative and postoperative care of surgical patients, including initial assessments, treatment planning, and ongoing monitoring.
- Ward Rounds: Participate in daily ward rounds, delivering patient updates to the surgical team and ensuring appropriate care and follow-up.
- Surgical Assistance: Assist in surgical procedures under the supervision of consultants and registrars, gaining hands-on experience in the operating theatre.
- Emergency Care: Provide care to emergency surgical admissions and assist in the evaluation and management of acute surgical cases.
- Collaboration: Work closely with consultants, registrars, and nursing staff to deliver comprehensive care for surgical patients.
- On-Call Duties: Participate in the on-call rota, providing medical cover for emergency and elective surgical patients as needed.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate medical records for all patients, ensuring proper documentation of surgeries, procedures, and patient progress.
Requirements:
- Medical Degree: MBBS or equivalent, with full General registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC).
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of post-internship experience in surgery or related fields.
- Skills: Strong surgical skills, effective communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work in various locations across Ireland, with adaptable working hours and contract lengths.
- Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in Ireland as a Locum – Irish/UK/EU Passport or Stamp 4.
