Job Description

Working with a process driven approach, you will manage projects, ensuring that they are consistently delivered in line with the CDE Project Management framework and best practice, whilst ensuring an exceptional level of communication with our customer.

Within this role you will further develop your understanding of PM principles and best practice and how to apply them in complex and strategic projects. This role will also develop a more strategic and value optimising perspective.

The purpose of this role is to work on a mix of operational and strategic projects and processes within the Project Management framework.

The role may involve supporting junior members of the team in the form of advice / mentoring. You will support the team in their continuous improvement efforts by leading by example with regards to contributing to process improvement initiatives, adherence to process, value creation, and highlighting gaps that may exist to drive improvements.

Project Management
  1. To operate in line with the CDE Project Management framework ensuring that allocated projects are delivered within the agreed scope, plan, budget, quality and time milestones.
  2. To maintain current working knowledge of project management best practice.
  3. Drive efficient coordination and facilitation of the project close out process including final project 'snags' or outstanding works.
  4. Support processes within the Project Management Framework and product quality to better meet and set customer and market expectations.
  5. Contribute to value creation through project and programme processes and systems and successful project delivery.
Customer Relations
  1. To assume single and trusted point of Customer contact for all assigned projects.
  2. To ensure awareness and compliance with all contractual arrangements for each assigned project, meeting with the Business Development Manager and Customer as required to clarify any points.
  3. Align expectations between stakeholders.
  4. Ensure traceability between what has been agreed and delivered so that all parties are clear.
Timeline & Budget Management
  1. Ensure all target project deliverables are communicated and reinforced to all relevant business functions.
  2. Ensure extensions of time are submitted where required and feasible.
  3. Manage project costs against planned budgetary milestones taking corrective action when necessary and ensuring the finance team are aware of any changes in forecast margins.
  4. Upsell and manage variation opportunities and ensure all non-planned costs are covered by a variation order where possible.
  5. Take full ownership of managing staged payment release within each project.
Communications & Reporting
  1. Communicate consistently to ensure both internal and external stakeholders are informed of project progress and issues and ensure all parties are aware of their requirements.
  2. To identify, track, monitor and communicate project-related issues, scope changes, variances and contingencies that may arise during the implementation of a project and report this regularly as part of the PM Governance Framework.
  3. Make visible the Voice of the Customer to internal Stakeholders.
  4. Escalate through the correct channels to ensure escalation is managed and proportionate.
